HUMAN DIGNITY AND THE VIOLATION OF WOMEN'S HUMAN RIGHTS DUE TO THEIR ROLE IN THE FAMILY IN COLOMBIA

Abstract

The recognition of the human rights of women implied the affirmation that these as human beings are endowed with dignity on equal terms with men, because it is an inherent quality of their human condition. As a result of the above, different national and international instruments established provisions regarding these rights and defined those acts that implied violence against women and therefore violation of their human rights. In this sense, the justification for choosing this topic was found in the interest in outlining what is related to violence against women, which represents a scourge and affects the female gender. in the world order and translates into a social problem. Colombia, despite having a host of laws on the matter to protect the rights of women, continues to have high rates of violence against this population due to the lack of compliance and effectiveness of the laws. That is why, based on the dignity of women, it was proposed as a general objective to identify how she is affected by the violation of human rights when the woman is a victim of violence due to her role within the family in Colombia.
