EUTANÁSIA E AUTONOMIA: APONTAMENTOS SOBRE O DIREITO DE DECIDIR
Abstract
The article analyzes euthanasia from the perspective of the right to autonomy and individuality as inherent elements of the inviolability of life. The inviolability of life is explored in light of legal and philosophical concepts, arguing that the value of life must include the subjective perception of each individual's dignity. The methodology adopted is the deductive method, with bibliographic research. It is concluded that euthanasia, by respecting the patient's autonomy, does not violate the inviolability of life but reinforces it, allowing each individual to define what it means to live with dignity. The article proposes a reflection on the need to rethink current practices in light of individual autonomy.
